I lose some of my tomatoes every fall. They don’t ever ripen. Here is an approach that works for me to increase yield, especially as fall approaches. This approach also works for other fruits and veggies.
1) Harvest tomatoes as they begin to ripen.
2. Wash well in a colander and dry.
3. This is the important part, mix with existing tomatoes at various stages of ripening. The ripening enzymes have a community effect to accelerate tomato ripening. In other words…
“The red guys help the green guys!”
