For the week ending 11.28.24 Mortgage rates DECREASED 3bp to 6.81%.
For a $100,000 loan, the monthly payment decreased to $653/mo or $0.07/day.
Mortgages decreased 3bp while the 10-year Treasury rates decreased 18bp for the week ended 11/28/24. Spread increased 15bp to 256bp. With the historical spread being 168 there now exists a “safety cushion” of 88bp above the historical spread.
The historic spread between the 10-year Treasury and mortgage rates is 168pb (see green line, right axis) and currently is 88bp above the historical norm. In July this spread was 150bp. Mortgage rates have decreased for more than the 10-year.
